TB Update

The post mortem on our reactor cows didn’t reveal any TB lesions so they are trying to grow it in a lab from tissue samples. Initially this is a positive result, but we will await the lab results.

We have been given our herd retest dates, which are -
Inject - Monday 28th June
Read - Thursday 2nd July

We will know the results on the 2nd, but if we go clear we have to wait to see if that is the only test we need, or whether we need a second test. If we don’t go clear then there will have to be another retest.

Thank you to so many of you who have sent us messages of support. It means so much to us to know that you are keeping your fingers crossed for us!

We will keep you posted.

What a week down on the farm, lots of positives, the biggest being that our β€˜Tb’ cows were taken and found not to to have leisions on investigation, we are just waiting to hear if we need to get one clear Tb test or two.....
Lovely time of year crops look good, new life, we have been putting more grass seed in as the grass isn’t growing at the moment and to make sure we have enough winter food we planted more acres.
Maize has also been drilled this week for winter food, we have been trying to make grass grow with the water collected in our lagoon. If everyone can have a bbq bank holiday Monday that will make it rain please 😁

I thought today was in need of some happy news. This is an event I cannot miss each year. It is one of my favourite events.
The girls have gone out in the field this morning to enjoy a run around and a bit of grass. We put them out for around an hour and increase the amount of time each day until they only come in for milking twice a day.

Thank you for your messages and support, we had an exciting evening yesterday and set our pasteuriser through a cycle with water in, wish we had it going by now but we are doing our best to get there.

Very sorry for you all, working your socks off to produce the best milk there is.

So so sorry to hear this. I have everything crossed for your next test xx

So sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for next test.

oh gutted for you ☹

Oh Louisa. I’m so sorry to hear this. ❀️

Poor you....never ending πŸ˜“

Ah, sorry to hear that. We've recently discovered your milk. Kefir turns out amazing from it!

Is there anything else we can do to help your wonderful farm in the meantime?

Sending you guys (and your beautiful girls) love and positive vibes for a speedy recovery. Can't wait to raid your chiller again. Will be keeping an eye out for updates πŸ™β€πŸ‘Š
